Job Title:  Trade Marketing Manager

About the role:

We’re looking for a commercially driven, Trade Marketing Manager to lead strategy and execution across offline and online retail channels (excluding pure play eCommerce). This role is critical to delivering Perfect Store execution – driving distribution, visibility, promotions, and field force effectiveness. It bridges marketing and sales, requiring strong channel insight, operational discipline and cross-functional leadership.

The impact you’ll make:

Strategy & Planning

  • Own the 12-month trade marketing strategy and activation calendar.
  • Align go-to-market plans with sales, brand, and trade partners.
  • Integrate offline and online execution for seamless shopper journey.

 

Perfect Store Execution & Retail Activation

  • Product/Distribution: Set numeric and weighted distribution targets. Ensure must-sell SKUs are consistently available across priority channels and store formats.
  • Placement/Merchandising: Maintain planogram integrity and shelf hygiene. Negotiate increase in share of shelf and secure secondary placements.
  • Promotion: Execute channel-relevant promotions aligned with shopper behaviour and brand priorities.
  • POS Materials: Deploy impactful POSM tailored to store formats. Ensure visibility, compliance and timely refresh of assets.
  • People: Manage promoter and merchandising execution via marketing agencies. Oversee field teams with clear KPIs and consistent brand delivery.
  • Process/Campaign Execution: Own end-to-end execution. Conduct audits, track performance and optimize via data insights.

 

Performance & Analytics

  • Measure ROI and refine execution using data.
  • Monitor competitor activity, shopper insights and channel trends.
  • Manage budgets for efficiency and commercial impact.

Execution & Collaboration

  • Own trade marketing execution across agencies and field teams.
  • Build strong relationships with retailers, distributors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Champion collaboration across marketing, sales and operations.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

  • Trade Marketing Expertise: 6+ years in FMCG trade shopper marketing with a strong track record in Perfect Store execution across modern and traditional channels.
  • Distribution & Product Availability: Deep knowledge of sell-in/sell-out dynamics, coverage models, and channel segmentation to drive must-sell SKU availability and distribution targets.
  • Merchandising & Placement: Proven experience in planogram execution, shelf audits, and negotiating increased share of shelf and secondary placements.
  • Promotions: Skilled in designing and executing shopper-relevant promotional campaigns with measurable ROI and conversion uplift.
  • POSM & Visibility: Strong capability in visibility planning, POSM deployment, and compliance tracking to ensure consistent brand presence.
  • Agency & Field Force Management: Hands-on experience managing promoter and merchandising teams via agencies, with clear KPI setting and performance optimization.
  • Campaign Execution: Demonstrated success in leading end-to-end campaign execution across offline and online retail environments.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external partners with clarity and commercial acumen.
