About the role:
Take part in the Design and development of domestic appliances. Participate in creation of useful innovations to fulfil the needs of consumers. Analyze and provide solutions for problem resolution and Improving product performance. Use your flexibility, creativity, ability to quickly learn new concepts and persistence to resolve a wide variety of urgent engineering and scientific issues.
The impact you’ll make:
- Developing and applying appropriate testing concepts in consultation with global R&D team and local lead development engineers. Lead the local planning and execution of subsystem (modules) and system (product level) testing and verification, in compliance with commercial requirements and technical requirements.
- Create, maintain and update relevant test protocols selected from relevant general test requirements & specifications in consultation with BU Q&R.
- Properly document test data, perform test data analysis and draw conclusion versus test requirements & specifications. Ensure timely and transparent communication of test status to project team and stake holders.
- Review product designs from a test point of view and resolve conflict on testability with stakeholders and project team. Ensure test set up (tools and equipment) is able to meet test requirements & specifications.
- Support Project Quality Lead in execution of verification and validation plan. Support defect analysis, root cause analysis, process capability analysis.
- Create prototype test set up for sample evaluation / testing.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve quality issues related to manufacturing process
The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:
- Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Product Design/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in product development and/or design verification, preferably from appliances Industries.
- Proficient with BIS, IEC, UL, BS, VDA testing Standards related to appliance category
- Strong knowledge in measurement systems & measurement techniques.
- Awareness of design guidelines and manufacturing processes for various commodities like Plastics, Sheet metal, Castings
- Well versed with Global standard verification methods of Iron (Dry & Steam iron, Steamers)
- Proficient on Statistical Analysis tools like Minitab, MATLAB etc.
- Exposure to process layout, Lean methodologies, Low cost automation and process controls.
- Documentation and data management thorugh PLM application – Windchill/Teamcenter
- Able to accomplish root cause analysis and resolve problems on a conceptual and advanced troubleshooting level
- Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.
- Desired Attitude/Attributes: analytical & conceptual thinking, along with a systematic approach towards problem solving
- Knowledge of MS office tools (Excel/Powerpoint/Word)
- Awareness of design guidelines and manufacturing processes for various commodities like Plastics, Sheet metal, Castings
- Ability to work in a team-based environment together with other disciplines (e.g. Electrical & Electronics, QA, Procurement etc.)
- Good communication skills and time management
