As a Technical Innovation Specialist, you’ll help shape the future of home appliances by contributing to innovation projects in electronics, motor control, sensor systems, and display technologies. You’ll work within an established innovation framework, applying your engineering knowledge to develop forward-thinking concepts that meet real consumer needs. This is a hands-on role where your problem-solving skills and curiosity will help bring new ideas to life.
The impact you’ll make:
- Advance innovation initiatives by collaborating with senior experts to move concepts from ideation to mock-up creation.
- Conduct technical research and analysis in specialized areas such as electronics, motors, sensors, displays, and control systems.
- Build and test prototypes to validate performance and support innovation hypotheses.
- Benchmark technologies across industries and analyze competitive solutions to inform concept development.
- Define technical specifications and design requirements for assigned innovation concepts.
- Optimize performance and cost through feasibility studies and technical evaluations.
- Demonstrate feasibility and value by developing proof-of-concept models that highlight consumer benefits.
- Explore technical mechanisms and assess alternative implementation methods.
- Collaborate across teams including concept management, design, product development, and business stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly by translating technical ideas for diverse audiences and supporting business case development.
- Engage with external partners to evaluate and validate technologies.
- Stay ahead of trends by continuously learning and networking within your field of expertise.
- Accelerate innovation using agile methodologies to improve delivery speed and iteration cycles.
The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.Sc., M.Sc., or M.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Control Systems preferred. Candidates with a background in Industrial Design Engineering and Consumer Electronics are also encouraged to apply.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in consumer product development.
- Proven track record of working with cross-functional teams and external technology partners.
- Strong expertise in electronics, particularly in motor control, sensor integration, or display technologies.
- Experience with innovation platforms and methodologies, ideally within the consumer sector.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong conceptual thinking paired with practical execution skills
Proficient in developing mock-ups and functional prototypes - Effective communicator, able to present to both technical and business audiences
- Consumer-focused mindset with a deep understanding of user needs
- Solid grasp of commercial and strategic product development principles
