About the role:
We are looking for a Sr. Systems Architect for our product Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Documentation team. In this role, you will design, implement and maintain short and long-term architecture choices based on consumer and business requirements and own the system platforms definition.
The impact you’ll make:
• Defining and maintaining requirements, specifying and managing sub-system interfaces for mechanical product solutions systems
• Breaking down solutions into defined parts, including processes and functions, understanding module and system interactions and optimizing systems architecture in-line with requirements
• Guiding and coordinating system engineers and ensuring the reuse of platforms, modules and components
• Measuring and managing architecture choices and respective KPI’s
• Translating consumer and business requirements into usable input for system architectures, anticipating costs and platforming opportunities
• Scan respective technical domains and seeks for match with application domain; scouts for technologies when needed
• Understanding category-specific application domains; consumer tensions, benefit spaces, technology and solutions used, with ability to translate such knowledge into technical insights needed to formulate the functions to be developed
• Envisioning scaling of functions being developed across ranges
• Supporting cost estimations and preliminary business case creation
• Supporting the assessment of supplier-based innovations
• Raising cross-functional risks / blind spot awareness and pro-actively taking mitigating actions
• Ensuring that product architecture boundaries are known and respected
• Leading risk and safety analyses
• Providing standard component options to the project teams such as motor, pumps, seals, etc. while being familiar with our commodity supplier base. Helping to define standard (commoditized) components for functional prototypes and sourcing support
• Supporting Procurement in supplier technical capability and maturity assessments
• Ensuring technical requirements provided by international standards are properly embraced
• Demonstrating trade-offs – both on technical, consumer and business aspects
The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:
• Minimum Bachelor degree or equivalent in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/ Mechatronics), optionally in scientific field like Physics or Chemistry. Master degree or Ph.D. preferred
• Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering required. Architecture experience preferred.
• Knowledge in Design for Six Sigma, MBSE, SAP EPPD, Cost Management, Requirements Management and Systems Engineering
• Related product knowledge
• English is a must
