Job Title:  Sourcing Manager

About the role:

As Sourcing Manager in Kitchen Life Asia Procurement team, you work with innovation, business, and suppliers to coordinate and develop our next generation Philips Kitchen Appliances.  You represent procurement in the R&D teams and are responsible for managing the total-cost-of-ownership via value engineering and driving supplier scouting and selection. 

The impact you’ll make:

•    Owns the sourcing process, including supplier selection and early supplier involvement for new product development.
•    Optimizes Total Cost of Ownership in product and business creation and through the full life cycle through value engineering and lean programs.
•    Collaborates with project team members and other stakeholders, representing Procurement in projects.
•    Supports bid evaluation and negotiations.
•    Implements Sourcing and Commodity strategy via sourcing decisions.
•    Ensure procurement related risks are controlled and mitigated throughout the product lifetime.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

• 5 to 8 years’ experience in Procurement, additional experience in other disciplines desired including experience in (fast moving) consumer goods, project management, engineering, supply chain management.
•  Analytical thinking, able to data crunch data.
• Can-do, hands-on attitude, with natural team playing skills and a flair for finding solutions and ability to lead change
• Bachelor or Masters (or local equivalent) in technical studies or Supply Chain Management
• Global business experience
• Value and Cost Engineering, Design for Excellence (DfX) and other optimization tools
• Fluent in English, written and spoken; Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin), written and spoken.
• Affinity with cooking, food, nutrition, internet-of-things and small domestic appliances.
