As a Product Lifecycle Management Process Expert, you will drive excellence in optimizing and governing the product lifecycle management processes such as;
- BOM management
- Change management
- Technical product documentation
- Master data management
The impact you’ll make:
You will work across teams such as product development, manufacturing, business units and IT to streamline product lifecycle management processes and master data.
You will play a key role in managing the complexities of product lifecycle management processes in various development models, such as in-house development and OEM/ODM, while collaborating with teams across international sites. You will refine workflows, develop clear guidelines, and create best practices that improve consistency and scalability across Versuni.
PLM is both a strategy and a set of digital tools (like SAP PLM, SAP IPD, SAP ECTR, Siemens NX etc.) used to manage the entire lifecycle of a product — from idea and concept development, through design and engineering, to manufacturing, service, and eventual phase-out.
- Design, deploy, and continuously improve processes related to BOM management (EBOM, MBOM, SBOM), Change management, technical product documentation, Supplier collaboration, Handover to manufacturing and Master Data.
- Ensure alignment between product maturity stages and product master data (in development/industrialization/production etc.), collaborating with internal R&D and outsourced teams, operations, procurement, manufacturing, service teams to guarantee consistency, traceability and quality.
- Develop structured guidelines, instructions, and training materials for BOM management, change management processes, and other PLM processes, workflows.
- Act as the central point of contact for PLM for updates, guidance, issue resolution, cross-functional alignment, fostering seamless collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, service, and other teams.
- Provide tailored training sessions and onboarding to help users fully leverage PLM tools and best practices.
- Enhance decision-making by developing reporting features that provide accurate, timely insights into product and project data.
The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technology or business.
- Proven hands-on experience ( 10 years + ) in implementing and governing PLM processes for consumer products in mass consumer electronics production environments.
- Proficiency in BOM management structures such as EBOM, MBOM, SBOM, change management and technical product documentation.
- Expertise in SAP PLM and ERP tools specific to product lifecycle management; managing BOM, Change management, technical product documentation and Master data.
- Advanced understanding of master data management workflows and inter-system interfaces to ensure engineering data flows seamlessly across development and manufacturing and service teams.
- Proven ability to refine and scale PLM workflows, create detailed documentation, and train teams on best practices for BOM and lifecycle-related processes.
- Strong understanding of product development methodologies and cross-functional collaboration, ideally with experience as a lead development engineer.
- Proactive, organized and detail-oriented approach to tasks.
- Ability to translate technical needs into practical solutions and training materials.
- Analytical mindset with a passion for process improvement and digital transformation will be an asset.
- Project management or agile development experience will be an asset.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
- Fluency in English both written and spoken is a must.
