As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in developing the next generation of Gaggia espresso coffee machines. From the first concept through industrialization and product lifecycle management, you will design innovative mechanical solutions that combine outstanding coffee experiences with quality, performance and manufacturability.

 

You will join Gaggia—a passionate, entrepreneurial team of espresso enthusiasts dedicated to growing one of the most iconic brands in coffee. Operating with a high degree of autonomy within Versuni, our Innovation & Development team works in close collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Manufacturing and supplier partners to bring meaningful innovations to coffee lovers around the world.

 

The impact you’ll make:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems for espresso coffee machines, reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Team Lead.
  • Create, optimize and validate mechanical designs from concept through detailed design, integration and product verification.
  • Translate consumer, product and business requirements into robust and innovative engineering solutions.
  • Develop verification plans and collaborate closely with Manufacturing and suppliers to ensure successful product integration and industrialization.
  • Test, analyze and refine designs to meet quality, compliance, cost and performance targets while supporting a smooth production launch.
  • Contribute to project planning by providing engineering estimates, identifying resource needs and reporting project progress in a structured manner.
  • Support the ongoing lifecycle management and continuous improvement of existing products.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

  • Technical diploma or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within consumer products or coffee machine development.
  • Strong experience with 3D CAD design, preferably Siemens NX.
  • Solid knowledge of plastics, injection molding technologies and mechanical design principles.
  • Good understanding of project management, quality processes and product cost considerations.
  • Basic knowledge of product certification and regulatory requirements.
  • Native-level Italian and good command of English.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical technical solutions.
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with the ability to make sound decisions, prioritize effectively and work independently.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality and supplier partners.

Compensation package 

The salary range for this position is EUR 48,000 – EUR 60,000 gross annual fixed compensation (RAL), corresponding to Level B3 of the CCNL Metalmeccanico (Code: C011), and determined by Versuni’s objective, gender-neutral career framework. The role also includes a variable compensation component linked to company performance and/or structured incentive schemes, as well as work-from-home and phone allowances to support home office setup and business connectivity.
