Job Title:  Manufacturing Operational Excellence Specialist

As a Manufacturing Operational Excellence Specialist, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our operational performance and driving continuous improvement across our manufacturing market. Think of this role as being the go to person who helps teams work smarter, solve problems faster, and build better ways of working. You’ll support the rollout of new capabilities, guide improvement initiatives, and help ensure that our processes are efficient, consistent, and ready for the future. It’s a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate closely with teams on the shop floor and contribute to meaningful, lasting change.
Our Orăștie plant is a standout in Romania’s manufacturing landscape—home to Philips coffee machines and irons, 100% carbon neutral since 2020, and recognized as one of the country’s top employers. The impact you’ll make:

  • Drive the implementation of new critical capabilities and standardized ways of working
  • Maintain and enhance Operational Excellence methodologies and tools across key focus areas
  • Ensure improvement events and projects are effectively planned, executed, and sustained
  • Support teams in resolving operational issues using lean tools, 6S principles, and continuous improvement methods
  • Identify and elevate cost saving opportunities by streamlining processes
  • Strengthen a culture of continuous improvement through active engagement and problem solving

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem solving skills, including structured methods such as 5 Why
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering
  • Hands on experience with continuous improvement initiatives, including improvement events and Six Sigma projects
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing tools such as value stream mapping, 5S, waste reduction, and time studies, as well as project management, including leading improvement events
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
  • A proactive, hands on attitude, comfortable working directly on the shop floor as well as in an office environment
  • Fluent Romanian and intermediate English skills
