Job Title:  Financial Controller (Logistics)

About the role:

Supports the Supply Chain function with the realization of their financial objectives through sound budgeting & planning and tracking of financial performance in outbound logistics (transportation, handling, warehousing).
Support the Head of Operations Controlling ensuring an accurate and transparent planning and performance management framework in the areas of competence.
This role reports into the Head of Operations Controlling and act as business partner to the Head of Supply Chain. The role requires solid senior stakeholder management,  with engaging communication style given the frequent iteration with the broader Finance community (in Operations, Group and Markets) and Supply Chain Leadership Team.

The impact you’ll make:

Oversees the overall planning and control cycle for own area of responsibility.

    • Implement and execute timely the planning and forecasting cycle in alignment with Operations Controlling agenda (annual operating plan, periodic forecasting, monthly outlook)
    • Work closely with the Head of Supply Chain and Supply Chain Market Leaders to translate operational assumptions and guidance into financial forecast
    • Defines, validate and challenge cost assumptions (volume, mix, productivity and inflation driven)
    • Align with Markets on submissions and support as needed to ensure overall logistics costs is in line with provided guidance

 

Execute month end close (MEC) activities driving accuracy of results.

    • Aligning with Supply Chain operations, COE and accounting team to ensure correct accruals are in place.
    • Responsible for monthly reports preparation (execution at COE and/or Accenture) and lead monthly review with Supply Chain team
    • Sign off monthly results providing clear explanation of deviation between actuals and plan (budget and/or forecast) or prior year and per distribution channel

 

Enhance management reporting and analytics to improve understanding and increase transparency in results explanation.

    • Primarily responsible for driving transparency and challenging the financial performance of the area of responsibility
    • Deep dive and explain cost development per country and distribution channel (volume, price,  productivity, incidental costs)
    • Analyze costs development creating the link with operational drivers (Transportation Management system) and define with the Supply Chain Leaders productivity and cost efficiency actions

 

Contribute to the Finance and Operations (Controlling) transformation and strategy rollout as Operations Controlling team member.

    • Support and execute Operations Controlling strategy deployment
    • Manages indirectly one or more COE analyst to define reporting, analytics and process coordination required
    • Support as Finance Business Partner key strategic projects in Supply Chain

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

    • Relevant work experience in Finance domain, with 5 - 8 years of experience
    • Financial education (Finance bachelor, CMA, CFA or equivalent)
    • Good knowledge of SAP S4, reporting tools (SAC) and  business intelligence tools (Power BI)
    • Strong proficiency in Excel and familiar with database/data bricks management tools
    • Solid experience in Operations Finance (Logistics, Supply Chain or similar)
    • Strong FP&A skills and ability to communicate and explain operations results
    • Deep understanding of financial concepts such as delta NPV, forward looking modelling or trend analysis; and measures to determine financial impact in the decision-making process.
    • Good stakeholder management and communication skills
    • Strong will to challenge status quo and ability to drive cross-functional initiatives
    • Ability to influence and lead without hierarchical authority (within and outside Finance)
    • Strong analytical skills and hands-on mentality
    • Fluent in English
