Job Title:  Data science & Engineering Lead

About the role:

The Data Science & Engineering Lead is part of the Disruptive Innovation team within the Product and Innovation Domain. In this role you will drive the development and implementation of advanced data science and engineering solutions, providing strategic insights and data-driven recommendations to support breakthrough products and technologies.

You will develop and foster collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, mentor a team of data professionals (internal and/or external) to leverage relevant technologies and associated applications on products to create significant impact on Versuni's digital transformation journey.

The impact you’ll make:

• Drive Innovation: Lead the scouting, development and implementation of advanced data science and engineering solutions to drive disruptive innovation within the Product and Innovation Domain. Propose the make / buy / partner strategy for the identified tech. to integrate into products to create perceived value by the consumer
• Strategic Insights: Provide strategic insights and data-driven recommendations to support the development of breakthrough products and technologies.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including marketing, IT, and customer service, to integrate data science solutions into various projects and initiatives.
• Technological Advancement: Explore and leverage emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance the company's digital presence and improve customer engagement.
• Performance Optimization: Optimize the performance, quality, and cost of innovative concepts through rigorous data analysis and engineering practices.
• Leadership: Lead a team of data scientists and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration (internal) and partnership (external), and continuous learning.

The skills and knowledge you’ll bring:

• Technical Expertise: Advanced knowledge in data science, machine learning, and engineering principles. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
• Innovation Mindset: A passion for product innovation and a track record of developing and implementing cutting-edge data science solutions for the benefits of the consumer, which ultimately allows Versuni to position products at a premium price
• Project Management: Experience in managing large-scale projects and working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact results.
• Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Educational Background: A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Industry Experience: Proven experience in the field of data science and engineering, preferably within a product development or innovation-focused environment.
• Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated leadership skills with experience in mentoring and managing a team of data professionals.
